Article: Black Bear Spotted!

Last Monday, June 17, one of our members spotted a black bear near the Parkway and Memorial! While we live in a more rural part of Florida, it is always special to see wildlife out and about. Black bears, for those that did not know, are a protected species here in Florida. Experts estimate that there are around 4,000 black bears living in Florida as of 2019. Thats a lot of bears! And, like most bears, they will eat anything! So make sure your garbage is secured and that you are not inviting unwanted guests to your backyard.
