With the end of the school year coming up, kids are anxious and so are parents! Kids are excited that they get to sleep half the day away and eat Cheetos in bed. Family vacations spike around summer time, especially in Florida. Camping, hiking, swimming, theme parks, cruises, the list goes on and on! If you, like most adults, like to plan in advance, here are some awesome ideas and great places to take the kids this summer. And they are all for families on a budget!

Weeki Wachi Springs is a natural spring located just north of Orlando. It is famous for its “Mermaid Show”, which the kids will love! The cost is $13 to get in and they serve food and drinks there, but you are allowed to bring your own as well. They have “River TouLOVErs” which take you through the spring. They have water slides and public restrooms as well.
Get there early though, as they only let a certain amount of people in the spring at a time!
Sarasota is a beautiful city. It is full of history and culture and the views are absolutely gorgeous! A family could easily spend the day there and have an amazing time! There are restaurants galore, beaches, and shopping all around! Lido Key Beach and Armond Circle are popular spots and all you need is a cooler, some ice, bottles of water, and you are all set to go to the beach!
If you don't like sand or water or beautiful beach views, then there are also some fun INDOOR things you can do as well!

Indoor trampoline parks are the new thing! Kids can get out their energy and parents can unleash their inner child! Urban Air has locations in Lakeland, New Tampa, Melbourne, Port Richey, and Wellington. It features indoor trampolines, go-karts, indoor skydiving, rock climbing, laser tag, bowling, ropes, and a warrior course (for the really brave ones!) There is something for the whole family here!
If you like to stay local, or want to kill a couple hours with the kids, go see a movie at the AMC Theater or the B&B Theater. The Highlands Little Theatre has plays going on all summer long as well!Take your kids to a park, or to the City Pier Beach for a picnic!
