Easter is on Sunday, April 21 this year. Easter is a celebration of Jesus Christ and his resurrection some 2,000 years ago. While Easter is not considered a Federal Holiday, some stores may be closed, in observance of this day. Many families celebrate this holiday with Easter egg hunts, dying eggs, and of course the Easter feasts! There are several events happening in Highlands County related to Easter, all of which are family oriented.
Here is a helpful list of Easter events:
On Thursday, April 18 Sun n Lake Golf Club is hosting the Sun n Lake Easter Festival. There will be egg hunts, food trucks, inflatable obstacle courses and much more! It is a great place to take the kids and have a family fun day! The cost to get into the festival is $2 and if you would like your child to partake in the actual Easter Egg Hunt, it is $6 and all children must be pre-registered.
On Saturday, April 20, there are SEVERAL events occurring at some of the different churches in the Heartland:
First Sebring Church is hosting the Easter Car Hop which will include an indoor egg hunt and a family friendly service afterwards.
Grace Church of Sebring is hosting the Easter Eggstravaganza which will include Easter egg hunts, bounce houses, food, and more!
Faith Lutheran Church is having a Community Easter Egg Hunt.
All of these events are free to the public and you are encouraged to bring the whole family!
On Sunday, April 21 many churches are having a Easter Sunday Service...
First Sebring Church is having two Easter morning services, including Traditional and Contemporary, with an egg hunt in between the two services.
Faith Lutheran Church is having a Sunrise Communion followed by an Easter breakfast.
St. Agnes is having their Easter Sunday Sunrise Service worship on the Lakeside at 6:30 am and a Solemn Mass in the Sanctuary at 10:30 am.
If you are interested in attending an Easter service, make sure to check with your church to find out if they will be hosting one. More information on these events including, times, prices, and locations can be found on our “Community Events” page on Sebring.com.
