10 Uses for Baking Soda
1. Get rid of odors on your hands
Rub some baking soda on your hands with a little water to get rid of strong smells, like onions, garlic.
2. Make your own deodorant
Sprinkle a little under your arms as a natural deodorant.
3. Freshen your breath
Mix 1 tsp of baking soda in a glass of water, swish in your mouth and rinse. It won’t make your mouth minty, but it will neutralize any odors. As an added bonus, it can be used as a toothpaste and teeth whitener.
4. Refrigerator Air Freshener
Leave an open box in your fridge to neutralize strong odors. Change every few months.
5. Clean crayon from walls
Sprinkle some on a damp cloth or sponge. Scrub lightly, then wipe clean with a clean cloth.
6. Fabric Softener
Add one cup to your laundry load to soften clothes and make whites whiter and brighter.
Keep cut flowers fresh longer by adding a teaspoon of baking soda to the water in the vase.
9. Vegetable cleaner
Sprinkle on vegetable brush to remove dirt and residue from fruits and vegetables.
10. Polish silver
Clean your silver without toxic silver polish – Put your silver on a sheet of aluminum foil with baking soda and place in your kitchen sink filled with hot water. Allow your silver pieces to soak until clean.
